Recap: San Jose St vs. Idaho

San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Kyle Barone posted a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Idaho Vandals defeated the San Jose State Spartans, 64-55, in a Western Athletic Conference battle at the Event Center.

Stephen Madison added 15 points and Mike McChristian chipped in 10 points for Idaho (6-6, 2-0) which has won three of its last four.

James Kinney was the only player in double figures for San Jose State (7-6, 2-1) with 17 points. Chris Cunningham brought in 11 rebounds for the Spartans who had a brief two-game winning streak snapped.

Idaho led 33-30 at the end of the first half as the Vandals shot 50.0 percent (14-of-28) from the field. San Jose State struggled to make just 29.3 percent of its shots but had 13 more attempts than the Vandals.

The Spartans coninuted to struggle in the second half as they hit on just 26.7 percent of their shots from the floor in the final 20 minutes.

San Jose State lost despite outscoring Idaho in points off turnovers (16-7) and on second chance points (18-8).
