Recap: Idaho vs. TX-San Antonio

Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Kyle Barone posted a double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Idaho Vandals past the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners in a Western Athletic Conference bout at Cowan Spectrum.

Connor Hill added 15 points and Stephen Madison tallied 13 for Idaho (8-11, 4-5) which had lost five of its previous six.

Michael Hale III scored 21 points, Kannon Burrage contributed 16, Hyjii Thomas and Edrico McGregor each chipped in 10 and Jordan Sims had 11 rebounds and was a point shy of a double-double for UTSA (5-14, 1-8) which has lost eight of its last nine.

The two squads were deadlocked at 38-38 at halftime. Idaho shot 53.6 percent from the floor which was better than the 43.8 percent effort UTSA managed but a 6-of-13 showing from beyond the arc allowed the Roadrunners to keep pace.

In the second half the Vandals shot an even 50 percent from the floor while UTSA cooled to 36 percent shooting, although it did net 7-of-15 shots from long range to keep the game close. The Roadrunners took a 66-65 lead with just under two minutes remaining but the Vandals answered with a 6-0 spurt to pull ahead for good.

Idaho had a 32-20 edge in points in the paint which helped ease its 17-2 deficit on points off turnovers.
