Recap: Texas State vs. Idaho

San Marcos, TX (Sports Network) - Kyle Barone tallied 26 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks as the Idaho Vandals outlasted the Texas State Bobcats, 90-81, in Western Athletic Conference action at Strahan Coliseum.

Barone shot 12-of-17 from the field and notched his 15th double-double of the season for Idaho (11-17, 6-11 WAC), which has won two of three. Connor Hill connected on 5-of-7 from 3-point range for 22 points, Stephen Madison shot 10- of-12 from the foul line for 20 points and Mansa Habeeb netted 13 points.

Matt Staff led the way with 22 points for Texas State (9-20, 4-12). Deonte' Jones and Joel Wright had 12 points apiece for the home team, while Reid Koenen and Phil Hawkins each netted 11.

Idaho shot a lofty 56.7 percent from the field in the first half as it took a 41-39 lead into intermission. Texas State shot 46.4 percent in the opening stanza and kept the game close by piecing together impressive showings from 3- point range (5-of-9) and the foul line (8-of-8).

The Vandals continued their hot field goal shooting in the second half (.542) and they never relinquished their lead.

Idaho won the rebounding battle, 38-28, and outscored Texas State in the paint, 44-34.
