Recap: Montana State vs. San Jose St

Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - James Kinney scored 23 points as the San Jose State Spartans toppled the Montana State Bobcats 82-74 in a non-conference tilt at Worthington Arena.

Chris Cunningham had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds for San Jose State (3-3). LaVanne Pennington chipped in 11 off the bench and D.J. Brown had 10 points to go with nine assists.

Jamie Stewart paced Montana State (1-5) with 22 points. Xavier Blount added 16 points and Antonio Biglow tacked on 11 more.

San Jose State led 40-31 at the half by shooting 53.1 percent from the field while holding Montana State to 37.5 percent shooting.

The Spartans kept up its impressive shooting in the second half by netting 52.6 percent of their field goal attempts while knocking down 20-of-23 shots from the charity stripe.

Montana State lost despite forcing 22 Spartan turnovers which the Bobcats converted into 23 points.
