Recap: Ball State vs. Indiana State

Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Behind 21 points, seven rebounds, and six assists from Jake Odum, the Indiana State Sycamores downed the Ball State Cardinals, 68-48, in non-conference action at Worthen Arena.

Manny Arop tallied a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana State (3-1), while R.J. Mahurin also scored 13 points coming off the bench.

For Ball State (2-1), Jauwan Scaife led the way with 16 points, and Majok Majok logged 15 points and 12 boards.

The Sycamores shot a modest 42.3 percent from the floor in the opening half, but they were able to take a 35-24 lead into intermission by playing great defense. The Cardinals made just 26.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the half, including 1-of-8 from three-point range.

Ball State's field goal percentage improved to 40 percent after halftime, but it was not enough to catch Indiana State, which led the game wire-to-wire.

The Sycamores shot 8-of-21 from beyond the arc in the contest.
