Recap: Seattle vs. Texas-Arlington

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Late free throws in the final seconds were just what Texas-Arlington needed as the Mavericks slipped by Seattle with a 65-63 win in Western Athletic Conference action at Key Arena.

Kevin Butler, who made a clutch shot at the charity stripe with just 1.3 seconds remaining, finished with 14 points for the Mavericks (14-9, 9-5 WAC), although he ended up shooting just 4-of-15 from the floor on the night. Brandon Edwards recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, the same went for Jordan Reves with 11 points and a game-high 11 boards in the close call as the team won for the sixth time in seven tries.

The Redhawks (7-18, 2-13) were led by Jarell Flora with 18 points off the bench, followed by Deshaun Sunderhaus with 13 points and seven boards before he picked up his fifth personal foul in the team's fifth straight setback.

UTA shot a dismal 31.0 percent from the floor in the first half, including 3- of-12 behind the 3-point line, yet the Mavericks trailed by just five points at the break, 31-26.

In the second half it was Seattle which connected on a total of just nine field goals, allowing the visitors to remain in contention and eventually pull out the win as the Redhawks had the clock run out before they could gather themselves in the waning moments.

In a game that featured seven ties and eight lead changes, Arlington left the door open with just 18-of-30 shooting at the charity stripe.
