Recap: Texas-Arlington vs. TX-San Antonio

Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Kevin Butler led the way with 17 points as the Texas-Arlington Mavericks defeated the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, 68-63, in Western Athletic Conference action at College Park Center.

Greg Gainey added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks (12-9, 7-5 WAC), while Jordan Reves tallied eight points and 13 rebounds. Shaq White- Miller contributed 13 points as UTA won its second straight game.

For the Roadrunners (5-18, 1-12), Kannon Burrage recorded a game-high 22 points, while Michael Hale III contributed 18 points and six assists. Hyjii Thomas added 11 points off the bench in UTSA's fifth straight loss.

UTSA shot 48 percent from the floor in the first half, including 7-of-15 beyond the arc, as it took a 37-35 advantage at the break.

The Roadrunners' field goal percentage dipped to just .241 after intermission as UTA was able to take control of the game down the stretch.

The Mavericks controlled the boards, 42-33, and dominated points in the paint, 28-8. They also shot 47.1 percent from the field on the evening.
