Recap: Idaho State vs. Weber State

Pocatello, ID (Sports Network) - Scott Bamforth netted 17 points to push the Weber State Wildcats to a 70-54 decision over the Idaho State Bengals in a Big Sky Conference tilt at Holt Arena.

Davion Berry contributed 16 points for Weber State (11-3, 6-0 Big Sky) as it picked up its seventh win in a row. Kyle Tresnak added eight points and nine rebounds in the victory.

Chris Hansen paced Idaho State (3-12, 2-4) with 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field. Andre Hatchett and Sherrod Baldwin scored 10 points each for the Bengals as had their two-game winning streak snapped.

The first half was closely contested and Royce Williams made a jumper in the closing seconds to give Weber State a slight 28-26 edge heading into the intermission. The Wildcats hit 50 percent of their field goal attempts including 4-of-10 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes, but Idaho State stayed close by converting 7-of-9 at the free throw line.

Weber State ran away with it after the break by knocking down 61.0 percent of its attempts from the floor and 10-of-11 at the charity stripe.

The Wildcats use a 33-20 edge in the rebounding battle to overcome their 15 turnovers. Idaho State was guilty of just eight turnovers, but went just 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.
