Recap: North Dakota vs. Montana

Grand Forks, ND (Sports Network) - Mathias Ward scored a game-high 27 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the Montana Grizzlies registered a 77-62 win over North Dakota in Big Sky Conference play at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

Will Cherry accounted for 14 points and seven assists for Montana (9-4, 5-0 Big Sky) as the team won its 18th consecutive conference outing. Kevin Henderson chipped in with 12 points and Kareem Jamar 11, to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

North Dakota (4-10, 1-4), losers of two straight, was paced by Troy Huff who came off the bench to register 24 points, five boards and four steals, while Jamal Webb also filled his stat line with 11 points, seven assists, four boards and four steals as well.

Both teams shot the ball well from the floor in the first half, but even with 56.0 percent accuracy, which included 3-of-6 beyond the arc, UND had to settle for a 38-36 deficit at the break.

In the second half North Dakota dropped down to a mere 26.9 percent shooting from the field and 1-of-12 on the perimeter, allowing Montana to run away with the victory.

Montana, which has now won five straight games overall, forced 16 turnovers on the night.
