Recap: Northern Colorado vs. Montana State

Greeley, CO (Sports Network) - A series of free throws in the final 30 seconds were just what Montana State needed as the Bobcats slipped by Northern Colorado, 69-66, in Big Sky Conference action at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.

Calen Coleman led four players in double figures with his 16 points off the bench for the Bobcats (5-7, 2-2 Big Sky) as they won their fourth straight outing. Xavier Blount accounted for 14 points and seven rebounds, Paul Egwuonwu 12 points and Christian Moon 10 in the victory as well.

The Bears (3-9, 1-3), losers of four straight, were paced by Tate Unruh who dropped in a game-high 23 points, shooting 5-of-11 behind the 3-point line. Derrick Barden responded with a double-double consisting of 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

A close game for much of the first half, it wasn't until the Bears put together a 13-0 run late that the hosts were able to get some separation and eventually take a 32-27 advantage in the break.

In the second half MSU stormed back with 56.5 percent accuracy from the floor, with a layup by Blount at the 1:26 mark knotting the score at 66-66, while free throws by Michael Dison and Egwuonwu provided for the margin of victory.

UNC finished the night shooting just 38.2 percent from the floor, including 6- of-21 behind the 3-point line.
