Recap: Delaware vs. William & Mary

Newark, DE (Sports Network) - Devon Saddler led the way with a game-high 19 points as the Delaware Blue Hens fended off the William & Mary Tribe for a 66-56 decision in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Bob Carpenter Center.

Saddlers strong showing for the Blue Hens (10-11, 5-3 CAA) extended his streak of double-digit scoring outings to 27 in a row dating back to last season. Kyle Anderson added 16 points and nine rebounds, while Jamelle Hagins chipped in 12 points to push Delaware to its second consecutive win.

Marcus Thornton paced William & Mary (8-12, 2-7) with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor. Tim Rusthoven went just 1-of-8 from the charity stripe, but tallied 13 points in the Tribe's ninth loss in 10 games.

Delaware knocked down 41.4 percent of its field goal attempts to take a 27-19 lead into the intermission. The Tribe trailed after they were limited to 29.6 percent shooting from the field, including a 2-of-12 mark from beyond the arc, in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

The Blue Hens stayed comfortably in front for the majority of the second half by draining 48.4 percent of their shots from the floor.

William & Mary finished just 3-of-10 at the free-throw line and trailed in the rebounding battle, 43-31.
