Recap: Old Dominion vs. Georgia State

Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Manny Atkins poured in 21 points to lead the Georgia State Panthers to a 69-54 victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs in a Colonial Athletic Association bout at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

R.J. Hunter also made a big impact for Georgia State (8-11, 3-3 CAA) by going 6-of-12 from the floor to score 20 points. Devonta White tallied 15 points and seven assists while James Vincent pulled down 12 boards to go along with four blocks as the Panthers collected their second-straight win.

Dimitri Batten paced ODU (2-16, 0-6) with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting and Donte Hill chipped in 13 points. The Monarchs, who are the only team left in the CAA without a victory in conference action, have now lost six in a row.

The Panthers took a narrow 29-25 lead into the intermission after they hit 39.3 percent of their field goal attempts and limited ODU to 31.6 percent shooting.

The contest remained close to start the second period, but GSU used an 11-1 run to give the visitors a comfortable, 56-44 edge on the scoreboard with only 6:47 remaining. The Panthers converted 12-of-14 at the charity stripe in the second half to stay in front.

The Monarchs managed just eight points off of the 13 turnovers by GSU, which tallied 18 points off of ODU's 17 miscues.
