Recap: UNC-Wilmington vs. Georgia State

Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - Keith Rendleman recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks held on to defeat the Georgia State Panthers, 76-72, in Colonial Athletic Association action at Trask Coliseum.

Craig Ponder contributed a team-high 17 points and four assists off the bench in the Seahawks' (9-14, 4-7 CAA) victory. Cedrick Williams added 14 points and six boards off the bench. Chris Dixon and Freddie Jackson recorded 12 and 10 points, respectively, as UNC-Wilmington snapped a three-game losing streak.

For the Panthers (12-13, 7-5), R.J. Hunter scored a game-high 26 points to go with five steals. Devonta White recorded 19 points and four assists. Manny Atkins added 12 points and six boards as Georgia State had a two-game winning streak snapped.

UNC-Wilmington made 61.5 percent of its shots from the floor including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Seahawks bench outscored the visiting bench 18-0, en route to a 42-32 advantage at the break.

Georgia State made 14-of-30 from the floor and committed only one turnover and forced six in the second half. UNC-Wilmington only had a two-point lead with 33 seconds remaining. Georgia State hit two foul shots to put them within two-points, but two made foul shots by Craig Ponder and Cedrick Williams would seal the win for the Seahawks.

UNC-Wilmington's bench outscored Georgia State, 22-4 in the contest.
