Recap: Hofstra vs. Old Dominion

Hempstead, NY (Sports Network) - David Imes scored 18 points and Stevie Mejia recorded a double-double as the Hofstra Pride took down the Old Dominion Monarchs, 70-59, in a Colonial Athletic Association duel at Mack Sports Complex.

Mejia tallied 10 points and 10 assists, Taran Buie added 15 points, Jordan Allen registered 10 points and Daquan Brown came off the bench to bring down 11 rebounds for Hofstra (7-22, 4-12 CAA) which ended a four-game losing streak.

Dimitri Batten had a game-high 19 points off the bench, DeShawn Painter had a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds and Keenan Palmore provided 11 points for Old Dominion (4-24, 2-14) which has lost four of its last five.

Old Dominion had a slim, 31-30, lead at halftime after both teams recorded 11 field goals on less than 45 percent shooting. The Monarchs 7-4 edge in points from the free-throw line carried it to the advantage at intermission.

After the break the Pride shot 44.1 percent from the floor, while holding the Monarchs to 34.5 percent, as they pulled away for the victory.

Hofstra forced 19 turnovers which turned into 23 points.
