Recap: James Madison vs. Old Dominion

Harrisonburg, VA (Sports Network) - Andre Nation paced the Dukes with 14 points and eight rebounds as James Madison defeated the Old Dominion Monarchs, 56-46, in a Colonial Athletic Association affair at the Convocation Center.

Ron Curry added 12 points for JMU (11-10, 5-3 CAA) as it picked up its second consecutive decision. Devon Moore chipped in 10 points for the Dukes.

Keenan Palmore provided a spark off the bench with 13 points, but it was not enough as the Monarchs (2-17, 0-7) lost for the seventh time in a row. Aaron Bacote contributed 10 points, while DeShawn Painter posted nine points and nine boards for ODU, which remains the only school in the CAA without a conference win.

Both sides shot 33.3 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes which sent the contest into halftime knotted up at 21-21. ODU led by six with 5:18 remaining in the first stanza, but A.J. Davis sank a jumper at the buzzer to tie it up.

JMU shot 50 percent from the field and converted 10-of-11 at the charity stripe in the second half to coast to the double-digit decision.

The Dukes held a 41-33 edge in the rebounding battle. ODU finished the contest 12-of-22 at the free throw line.
