Recap: UNC-Wilmington vs. UNC Greensboro

Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - Keith Rendleman netted a game-high 23 points to lead the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks to an 87-73 win over the UNC Greensboro Spartans in a non-conference bout at Trask Coliseum.

Rendleman shot 8-of-12 from the field and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Seahawks (5-6), which breaks a two-game losing skid with the win. Craig Ponder reached double digits in scoring for the second time this season with 19 while Freddie Jackson chipped in 14 points. Cedrick Williams did work down low, collecting a game-high 15 boards and four blocked shots.

Derrell Armstrong came off the bench to register a double-double for UNCG (2-7) with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Trevis Simpson scored a team-high 19 points and Kayel Locke made 10-of-12 free throw attempts en route to 12 points.

UNCW shot extremely well in the first half, knocking down 54.3 percent from the field including 7-of-11 from three-point range. It closed the half on a 7-0 run to build a big 49-28 advantage on the scoreboard at the break.

UNCG won the second half but never brought the game back to single-digits as they trailed by at least 14 points for the duration. Simpson scored 16 of his 19 points in the final 20 minutes.

UNCW outrebounded their opponents, 48-37.
