Recap: Ill-Chicago vs. Detroit

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Jason Calliste registered the first double- double of his career with 18 points and 10 assists to lead the Detroit Titans to a 79-67 win over the Illinois-Chicago Flames in a Horizon League showdown at UIC Pavilion.

Doug Anderson paced Detroit (20-11, 12-4 Horizon) with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Ray McCallum netted 20 points and dished out four assists.

Daniel Barnes scored 28 points in the losing effort, while Anthony Kelley had 15 points as UIC (16-14, 7-9) concluded the regular season having lost four of its last five games.

Detroit missed all nine 3-point attempts in the first half but shot 48.4 percent from the floor while holding UIC to just 30.8 percent. Detroit also forced 12 turnovers and led 36-22 at intermission.

The Flames opened the second half on an 11-2 run to cut the deficit to five, but that is as close as they would get after hitting just 41.9 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes while Detroit shot 51.6 percent.

Detroit has clinched the No. 2 seed in the Horizon League tournament.
