Recap: Youngstown St vs. Milwaukee

Youngstown, OH (Sports Network) - Kendrick Perry scored a game-high 28 points as the Youngstown State Penguins downed the Milwaukee Panthers, 94-80, in a Horizon League bout at the Beeghly Center.

Perry also had eight rebounds and five assists, D.J. Cole added 18 points, Blake Allen put in 17 points and Kamren Belin tacked on 15 points for Youngstown State (15-11, 7-6 Horizon) which had lost three of its last four games.

Paris Gulley netted 18 points, Jordan Aaron registered 17, J.J. Panoske collected 16 and Evan Richard chipped in 11 off the bench for Milwaukee (6-21, 2-11) which has lost nine of its last 10.

Allen scored 15 points in the first half and Youngstown State shot a sizzling 66.7 percent from the floor as the Penguins took a 48-36 lead into the break.

Both teams shot at a 50 percent rate in the second half but Youngstown State had five more field goals and hit 7-of-16 from beyond the arc to claim the victory.

The two teams combined to connect on 24 shots from beyond the arc in the contest. Youngstown State had a 24-11 edge in points off turnovers.
