Recap: Youngstown St vs. Loyola-Chicago

Youngstown, OH (Sports Network) - Blake Allen finished with 10 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining to lift the Youngstown State Penguins to a thrilling 60-59 win over the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in Horizon League action at the Beeghly Center.

Kendrick Perry led the way with 18 points for YSU (14-10, 6-5 Horizon), which snapped a two-game losing skid. Kamren Belin chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, and two blocks in the triumph.

For Loyola (13-11, 3-8), Christian Thomas paced all players with 19 points and eight boards, while Devon Turk (17 points) and Matt O'Leary (10 points) put together solid performances off the bench. The Ramblers have lost back-to-back games.

YSU took a comfortable 34-20 lead into intermission after outshooting Loyola from the field in the first half, 46.7 percent to 32 percent.

The Ramblers found their stroke after the break, making 50 percent of their field goal attempts, and they took a 50-48 lead with 6:21 left to play on a Jeff White jumper. They held on to that advantage down the stretch until Allen's game-winner in the final minute. White had a chance to win the game for Loyola at the buzzer but his shot did not fall.

YSU won despite getting only seven points for its bench, while Loyola's reserves poured in 33 points.
