Recap: Brown vs. Yale

Providence, RI (Sports Network) - Sean McGonagill led all scorers with 20 points as the Brown Bears opened up Ivy League play with a 65-51 victory over the Yale Bulldogs at Pizzitola Sports Center.

McGonagill shot 8-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range for Brown (7-8, 1-0 Ivy), which extended its season-high winning streak to three games. Matt Sullivan added 13 points and six rebounds for the home team, while Stephen Albrecht and Rafael Maia scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For Yale (6-12, 0-1), Greg Kelley came off the bench to net 11 points, while Armani Cotton grabbed 11 boards.

Brown shot 48.3 percent from the field in the first half and held Yale to just 29.6 percent shooting, as it went into halftime with a 33-24 advantage.

The Bears led by as many as 21 after intermission and the game was never in doubt.

Brown shot 8-of-20 from 3-point range on the night, while Yale made just 4- of-22 from long range.
