Recap: Bowling Green vs. Youngstown St

Bowling Green, OH (Sports Network) - Blake Allen scored 15 points as the Youngstown State Penguins defeated the Bowling Green Falcons, 58-49, in a non- conference battle at the Stroh Center.

Damian Eargle posted a double-double for the Penguins (4-4) with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

For the Falcons (3-4) Jordon Crawford finished with 16 points and A'uston Calhoun chipped in with 12 points.

Both teams struggled with their shooting to start the game. Youngstown State shot 36.7 percent from the field, but held Bowling Green to just 28 percent, as the Penguins took a 23-17 lead into the break.

After halftime, the Penguins found their shot, connecting on 52.6 percent of their field goal attempts. The Falcons continued to struggle, making just 33.3 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half. Youngstown State led by as many as 16 points in the second half as they cruised to the easy victory.

The Penguins won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Falcons 31-22. The Penguins shot just 12-of-26 from the free-throw line.
