Recap: Yale vs. Columbia

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Justin Sears and Brandon Sherrod netted 10 points apiece to lead the Yale Bulldogs to a 75-56 win over the Columbia Lions in an Ivy League clash at John L. Lee Amphitheater.

13 members of the Bulldogs (10-15, 4-4 Ivy) registered at least two points as Yale has earned its third win of its last four contests.

Steve Frankoski scored a game-high 16 points for Columbia (10-12, 2-6) while Brad Gilson made 3-of-5 from behind the arc en route to 11 points. The Lions have now fallen in back-to-back games.

Yale jumped out to a 43-21 halftime edge after Columbia shot just 31.8 percent in the opening period while coughing the ball up 12 times.

After Frankoski scored the first five points of the second half, Yale ran off nine points in a row to regain the momentum. Yale shot 56.5 percent in the second half and outrebounded Columbia, 16-9.

Despite the loss, Columbia still leads the all-time series, 122-100.

Extra Points: Snyder and the Beltway radio wars

If contradiction was an Olympic sport, Chip Kelly would certainly be medal-worthy judging by his performance at the NFL's owners meeting but the Eagles coach might have to settle for silver because Daniel Snyder's critics will take the gold every time.

2015 PREVIEW NL EAST: It's the Nationals and everybody else

There isn't much after that. The Miami Marlins are loaded up for a playoff push -- likely through a wild card spot -- and the New York Mets are up-and- coming but still raw. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, former powerhouses of the division, are going through rebuilds and won't contend anytime soon.
