Recap: Columbia vs. Yale

Manhattan, NY (Sports Network) - Maodo Lo poured in 20 points to lift the Columbia Lions to a 59-46 victory over the Yale Bulldogs in an Ivy League matchup at Levien Gym.

Alex Rosenberg finished with nine points and 10 rebounds for Columbia (12-13, 4-7 Ivy) as it won for the second time in a row.

Matt Townsend and Austin Morgan scored 10 points apiece for Yale (11-17, 5-6) which has now fallen in back-to-back games.

Both sides struggled to get anything going offensively before the break. Columbia shot just 33.3 percent from the field including a 2-of-9 mark from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on only 29.2 percent of their field goal tries but managed to take a 26-21 lead into the intermission by converting 11-of-13 at the charity stripe.

Yale's offensive woes continued after halftime as it hit only 33.3 percent of its field goal attempts. The Lions easily overcame their halftime deficit and coasted to the 13-point win as they drained 65.2 percent of their shots from the floor in the final 20 minutes.

Columbia managed to be much more efficient by attacking the basket, which led to a 30-16 edge in points in the paint.
