Recap: Harvard vs. Dartmouth

Cambridge, MA (Sports Network) - Siyani Chambers had 21 points and Wesley Saunders scored 20, as the Harvard Crimson rallied for an 82-77 overtime victory against the Dartmouth Big Green in Ivy League action at Lavietes Pavilion.

Jonah Travis added 16 points and Christian Webster finished with 13 to help the Crimson (10-6, 2-0 Ivy) claim their eighth straight victory in the head- to-head series.

John Golden and Malik Gill shared team-high scoring honors with 15 points apiece for the Big Green (4-12, 0-2), who coughed up a 13-point lead over the final 3:49 of regulation. Connor Boehm tallied 14 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in a losing effort.

Dartmouth shot a healthy 56.5 percent from the floor in the first half while Harvard shot just 33.3 percent, as the Big Green took a 29-20 halftime lead into the locker room.

Dartmouth continued to play frontrunner throughout the second half, but there was a dramatic momentum shift in the final minutes of regulation. Down by 10 with less than two minutes remaining, the Crimson went to work. Webster hit back-to-back 3-pointers to make it a two-point game with 32 seconds on the clock. After Golden missed a pair of free throws at the other end, Chambers tied the game on a layup with 18 seconds to play, and Gill missed a potential game-winning three on Dartmouth's last possession of regulation.

Harvard's seven-point lead at the 1:37 mark of the extra session was its largest of the game, as the Crimson pulled away by shooting 3-of-4 from the field and making 13-of-15 free throws in overtime.

Dartmouth was whistled for 28 fouls in the game, as Harvard enjoyed a key 27-15 scoring edge at the charity stripe. The teams combined for 39 turnovers.
