Recap: Harvard vs. Yale

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Wesley Saunders had a double-double of 15 points and 11 assists as the Harvard Crimson defeated the Yale Bulldogs, 67-64, in Ivy League action at Lavietes Pavilion.

Laurent Rivard also had 15 points, Steve Moundou-Missi added 12 off the bench and Siyani Chambers chipped in 11 for Harvard (11-6, 3-0 Ivy League) which has won four of its last five.

Armani Cotton scored 14 points as the only player in double figures for Yale (7-13, 1-2) which had won two of its previous three.

In the first half the Crimson shot 57.1 percent from the field, including a 6- of-9 effort from beyond the arc, to take a 40-27 lead at halftime. Yale hit 45.8 percent of its shots in the first 20 minutes.

After halftime the Crimson recorded just seven field goals while turning the ball over 10 times. Yale hit just 37.5 percent of its shot attempts but managed to chip away and bring itself to within three points with 19 seconds remaining. However the Crimson made good on all four of its free throw attempts in the final 18 seconds to pull out the win.

Harvard had a 24-12 edge in points from beyond the arc and a slim 28-25 advantage in rebounds.
