Recap: Fairfield vs. Saint Peters

Bridgeport, CT (Sports Network) - Led by Maurice Barrow with 15 points, the Fairfield Stags downed the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 61-44, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest at Webster Bank Arena.

For the Stags (15-10, 7-6 MAAC), Colin Nickerson added 14 points and Derek Needham chipped in 13 points and six assists.

Darius Conley led the Peacocks (7-16, 2-11) with nine points.

Though they shot only 41.4 percent from the field in the first half, the Stags held the Peacocks to just 36 percent shooting and took a 30-19 advantage into halftime.

Fairfield began the second half with a 7-0 run, which pushed its lead to 18 points, 37-19, with 17 minutes remaining. The Peacocks would get no closer than 14 points the rest of the way, as the Stags posted their fifth-straight win.

Fairfield held the edge in rebounding, 36-32, and points in the paint, 32-24.
