Recap: Akron vs. Princeton

Akron, OH (Sports Network) - Zeke Marshall scored 17 points as the Akron Zips held on for a 62-58 victory over the Princeton Tigers in a non-conference bout at James A. Rhodes Arena.

Nick Harney added 16 points and Alex Abreu chipped in 10 points and seven assists for Akron (8-4) which has won four straight.

Denton Koon finished with 16 points for Princeton (5-7). Ian Hummer added 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while Hans Brase chipped in 10 points. The Tigers had won back-to-back games entering play.

The score was knotted at 27-27 at the half. Akron hit on 12-of-25 shots from the field while Princeton connected on 12-of-26.

Harney scored 10 of his points in the second half and the Zips shot at a 58.3 percent rate over the final 20 minutes. Princeton hung around by hitting on an even 50.0 percent of their field goal attempts.

The Zips hit 3-of-4 shots from the free throw line in the final minute to hold on for the win. The Tigers missed both of their field goal attempts in the final minute.

Akron outscored Princeton 48-38 on points in the paint but the Tigers had the 28-22 edge in rebounds.
