Recap: Elon vs. Princeton

Elon, NC (Sports Network) - Ian Hummer led all scorers with 28 points on 10- of-16 shooting from the floor, as the Princeton Tigers claimed a 74-64 win over the Elon Phoenix in non-league play at Alumni Gym.

Will Barrett chipped in with 17 points and T.J. Bray scored 12 for the Tigers (6-7).

Jack Isenbarger led the Phoenix (8-6) with 16 points, while Lucas Troutman finished with 14 in the loss.

Princeton led from start to finish in the contest. Barrett knocked down a pair of 3-pointers during an 8-0 first half run that saw the Tigers take a 23-13 lead with 11:43 to play in the opening frame. They went into the half leading, 41-32.

Elon trailed by as many as 16 midway through the second half before going on a run to narrow the deficit. A 3-pointer by Isenbarger with 1:37 remaining made it 65-59, but the Phoenix could draw no closer the rest of the way.

Princeton committed only nine turnovers for the game and also held a key 36-25 rebounding advantage, including a 15-7 edge on the offensive glass.
