Recap: Yale vs. Princeton

New Haven, CT (Sports Network) - Greg Kelley and Michael Grace both scored 13 points as the Yale Bulldogs defeated the Princeton Tigers, 71-66, in Ivy League action at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs (13-17, 7-6 Ivy) were Javier Duren with 12 and Austin Morgan 11 points as the squad won for the second time in as many games.

The Tigers (16-10, 9-3) were paced by T.J. Bray who tallied a game-high 17 points, shooting 4-of-9 behind the 3-point line, but still the team saw a four-game win streak come to an end. Shooting 4-of-6 on the perimeter, Will Barrett added 16 points for Princeton, followed by Denton Koon with 13 in the setback.

Yale shot a blistering 70.0 percent from the field in the first half, not to mention an incredible 6-of-8 beyond the arc, en route to a 36-24 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Bulldogs dropped off to 50.0 percent from the floor and at the same time Princeton responded with in an impressive 63.6 percent from the field and 8-of-16 on the outside in order to close the gap. However, the hosts managed to make good on 14-of-16 at the free-throw line in order to stay ahead and grab the win.

With the loss the Tigers, who were outscored 16-9 at the free-throw line on the night, also fell behind Harvard in the standings after the Crimson defeated Columbia on Friday night.
