Recap: Western Ill vs. Yale

Oakland City, IN (Sports Network) - Adam Link scored a game-high 18 points as the Western Illinois Leathernecks topped the Yale Bulldogs, 59-47, as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at the Johnson Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Leathernecks (3-2) were Ceola Clark and Jack Houpt with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Terell Parks finished with just six points, but he did add eight rebounds and four blocked shots in the contest.

The Bulldogs (1-4) failed to have a single player score in double figures, with Brandon Sherrod coming close with nine points in only 18 minutes of action.

A close game through the first 20 minutes of action, Yale actually held a 32-31 edge at the break after shooting 50 percent from the floor, 4-of-8 beyond the arc, and a perfect 8-of-8 at the free-throw line.

Trailing by six points at the 14:25 mark of the second half, WIU put together a 16-0 run in order to assume control and capture the double-digit victory.

Yale ended up shooting just 36.6 percent from the floor and was guilty of 16 turnovers.
