Recap: Siena vs. Marist

Albany, NY (Sports Network) - Adam Kemp finished with 24 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Marist Red Foxes to a 76-74 decision over the Siena Saints in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at the Times Union Center on Friday.

Devin Price chimed in with 18 points off the bench for Marist (9-20, 5-12 MAAC). Chavaughn Lewis added 17 points while Jay Bowie produced 10 points and eight rebounds. The win marked the second straight for the Red Foxes.

Siena (7-22, 4-13) lost despite a 17-point outing by Trenity Burdine. O.D. Anosike scored 16 points and finished one rebound shy of a double-double while Rob Poole tallied 14 points. Davis Martens contributed 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench as the Saints were defeated for the sixth time in their last seven games.

The Red Foxes connected on 53.6 percent of their field goal attempts in the opening half and held a 35-31 lead with just over a minute before the intermission. Siena scored five consecutive points to close out the half and take a 36-35 lead into the break. Anosike scored nine of his points in the first half.

Marist climbed back on top and Kemp sank a pair of free throws to give it a 66-60 lead with just under five minutes to play, but the Saints responded with an 8-2 run to even the score less than two minutes later. The Red Foxes struck back took a 75-71 lead with under 10 seconds left in regulation. Poole hit a triple to make it a one-point affair with five seconds left. After Manny Thomas missed the back end of his ensuing trip to the free-throw line, Poole's desperation heave was off the mark.

The closely contested bout was reflected in the rebounding battle as both sides pulled down 30 boards in the contest.
