Recap: San Diego vs. Siena

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Johnny Dee scored a game-high 27 points as he guided the San Diego Toreros to a convincing 77-60 win over the Siena Saints as part of the 2012 NUCDF Basketball Challenge at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Dee shot 4-of-6 behind the three-point line and knocked down all nine of his opportunities at the free-throw line as well for the Toreros (3-2), not to mention clearing five rebounds and making three steals for the hosts. Ken Rancifer delivered 13 points and eight rebounds, followed by Cameron Miles with 10 points, six boards and four assists off the bench.

The Saints (2-3) were paced by O.D. Anosike who recorded yet another double- double with 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, followed by Rob Poole with 12 points, although the latter shot just 4-of-13 from the floor.

Siena opened the meeting on a 10-3 run, but the squad ended up making just 33.3 percent from the field in the period, which allowed San Diego to claim a 42-30 edge at the break. It could have been much worse for the Saints had they not converted 6-of-13 attempts on the perimeter.

In the second half the Toreros put the game away with 53.6 percent accuracy from the floor, while limiting the visitors to 37.9 percent.

While Anosike hit on 7-of-13 shots from the field, the other four starters for Siena combined to make just 9-of-37.
