Recap: Akron vs. Ohio

Akron, OH (Sports Network) - Zeke Marshall recorded a double-double with 17 points as the Akron Zips defeated the Ohio University Bobcats, 86-72, to remain the only team without a conference loss in Mid-American Conference action at James A. Rhodes Arena.

Marshall recorded a game-high 12 rebound as well in the Zips (17-4, 8-0 MAC) victory. Demetrius Treadwell also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Alex Abreu scored a game-high 21 points and was one assist shy of a double-double. Nick Harney added 13 points and Reggie McAdams contributed 11 points as Akron won its 13th straight.

For the Bobcats (15-6, 6-1), D.J. Cooper contributed 14 points and six assists. Reggie Keely added 11 points and seven boards. Nick Kellogg scored 15 points and T.J. Hall recorded 12 points off the bench as Ohio had a seven-game winning streak snapped.

Despite Ohio claiming an early 23-10 lead, Akron hit 18-of-29 from the floor, en route to a 41-36 advantage at the half.

Akron continued its impressive shooting making 14-of-28 from the floor and it held Ohio to a mere 10-of-31 made field goals in the second half.

Akron made 32-of-57 (.561) from the floor and dominated the boards, 40-22, on the night.
