Both sides struggled to find their shooting touch in the opening 20 minutes of action. WMU shot just 37.9 percent from the field and went 0-of-6 from beyond the arc while BGSU hit on 38.5 percent of its attempts from the floor to keep pace. After the lead changed hands three times, the contest went into the intermission tied up at 30.

The Falcons used a 9-1 run early in the second half to build an eight-point lead and later extended their advantage to 15 on three separate occasions. The Broncos were unable to rally back as they went 5-of-15 at the free-throw line in the second stanza while allowing BGSU to connect on 63.6 percent of its field goal tries.

Despite being defeated, WMU held a 38-28 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the hosts, 34-24, in the paint.
