Recap: Ball State vs. Buffalo

Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Javon McCrea scored 24 points for the Buffalo Bulls who claimed a 66-63 win over the Ball State Cardinals in a Mid-American Conference clash at the Worthen Arena.

Although he had eight turnovers, McCrea was 10-of-12 from the field with seven rebounds and two blocked shots for the Bulls (7-12, 2-3 MAC), who have won two in a row after a four-game losing streak. Will Regan added 17 points while Tony Watson contributed nine points and seven assists.

Jauwan Scaife scored 18 points while knocking down three 3-pointers for Ball State (7-10, 1-4), which has now lost four in a row. Majok Majok had 13 points and six rebounds while Chris Bond scored eight points while tallying four steals.

The Cardinals led 31-29 at halftime after outrebounding the Bulls 21-14 in the first half. The hosts held the slim advantage despite shooting just 1-of-9 behind the 3-point line in the first half.

In the second half Buffalo shot 50.0 percent from the floor and outscored Ball State 37-32. The Bulls took the lead with 2:41 remaining on a dunk by McCrea to make the score 61-60 and did not let the lead go the rest of the way.

Regan knocked down a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left to give Buffalo a four point cushion. After Scaife hit a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to bring the game back within one point, Watson hit two clutch free throws to close out the contest.

Buffalo was 7-of-17 from 3-point range while Ball State was 5-of-16.
