Jacksonville, AL (Sports Network) - Darion Rackley went 7-of-9 from the free throw line on his way to a game-high 17 points as the Jacksonville State Gamecocks took down Eastern Michigan, 61-54, in a non-conference matchup at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Brian Williams added 16 points and five assists for JSU (2-0). Ronnie Boggs contributed 10 points and a team-best seven rebounds. The Gamecocks recorded 13 steals as a team in the contest.

Daylen Harrison led the Eagles (1-1) with 14 points and nine rebounds. Glenn Bryant chipped in 13 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the floor, Derek Thompson netted nine points, and Austin Harper came off the bench to hand out five assists.

JSU shot 40 percent from the floor in the opening half to take a 27-24 lead into the intermission. EMU held a one-point advantage with 2:59 before halftime, but failed to make another field goal from that point on before the second half.

The Gamecocks built their lead to as large as 10 in the second half before the Eagles rallied to overcome the deficit. EMU led, 46-45, with 5:47 left to play before a 7-0 run by the Gamecocks put the home team in front for good.

JSU outscored the Eagles in the paint, 34-20, and held a 36-32 advantage in the rebounding battle. The Gamecocks avenged last season's 63-60 road loss to EMU to even the series up a 1-1.
