Recap: Toledo vs. Eastern Mich

Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Rian Pearson pumped in 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to propel the Toledo Rockets to a 60-52 decision over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a Mid-American Conference duel at Savage Arena.

Pearson went 8-of-16 from the floor and 13-of-19 at the charity stripe for Toledo (11-10, 7-3 MAC) as it collected its fifth consecutive win. Dominique Buckley added 13 points while Julius Brown made up for a 1-of-10 showing from the field with eight assists and four steals.

Daylen Harrison registered a double-double of 19 points and 10 boards for EMU (11-12, 4-5), which also received 13 rebounds and four blocks from Da'Shonte Riley.

Toledo took a slight 24-22 lead into halftime despite shooting 33.3 percent from the field and converting just 6-of-12 at the charity stripe. The Eagles trailed after they converted only 27.6 percent of their field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.

Although EMU heated up to connect on 40 percent of its shots from the floor after the break, the Rockets managed to extend their lead by sinking 14-of-19 at the charity stripe.

The backups played a huge role as Toledo's reserves outscored the Eagles' bench, 29-11.
