Recap: Miami-Ohio vs. Kent State

Oxford, OH (Sports Network) - Chris Evans scored 21 points to lift the Kent State Golden Flashes to a 78-58 rout of the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in a Mid- American Conference meeting at Millett Hall.

Randal Holt made five 3-pointers en route to 19 points for Kent State (17-12, 7-7 MAC), while Kris Brewer had nine assists and Devareaux Manley shot 4-of-5 from beyond the arc for 12 points off the bench.

Will Felder and Jon Harris had 18 and 16 points, respectively, for Miami-Ohio (8-19, 3-11), which has lost its last seven games.

Miami shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half and 4-of-5 from behind the arc. However, Kent State knocked down eight 3-pointers and led 37-33 at intermission.

An Evans triple capped an 8-0 run to give Kent State a 50-38 edge with 14:10 remaining in the contest. The result was never in doubt the rest of the way as the Golden Flashes shot 59.1 percent from the floor in the second half.

Kent State outrebounded Miami, 30-24.
