Austin Peay (4-5) at Arkansas State (5-3) (ET)

GAME NOTES: The Arkansas State Red Wolves try to remain perfect at home on Sunday, as they host the Austin Peay Governors in non-conference action at the Convocation Center.

Arkansas State, which is 3-0 in Jonesboro, has been out of action since Dec. 8 when it topped St. Bonaventure in this same building, 73-70. The victory snapped a two-game slide by the Red Wolves, with both setbacks coming against foes from their Sun Belt Conference.

As for the Governors, a team which has yet to win a true road game this season, they are coming off an 83-65 blowout loss to Memphis away from home last weekend. The defeat was the second in the last three outings for an APSU squad which has yet to win back-to-back games this season.

The Govs lead the all-time series with ASU by a count of 14-12, thanks in part to an 86-82 overtime win last season at home.

Against Memphis at FedExForum, the Governors shot an impressive 50.0 percent from the floor, including 6-of-8 beyond the arc, but the squad knocked down just 11-of-18 at the free-throw line and was guilty of a massive 28 turnovers. The Tigers made things interesting by suffering 23 miscues of their own, but Austin Peay could not capitalize enough. Travis Betran accounted for a game- high 27 points for APSU, connecting on all but one of his six three-point shots, while Will Triggs tacked on 17 points for the visitors. The team's leading scorer in four games this season, Betran checks in with 16.4 ppg having made good on an impressive 51.0 percent beyond the arc, which is actually better than his 48.1 percent from the floor overall. Anthony Campbell (11.9 ppg) and Triggs (10.8 ppg) are also key figures as the team generates close to 72.0 ppg.

Arkansas State led by as many as 17 points late in the first half, but the team saw that advantage disappear in the second half and turn into a four- point deficit before pulling out the three-point win over the Bonnies at home. Brandon Peterson and Raeford Worsham both tallied 18 points for the hosts, the former also clearing 13 of the unit's 33 rebounds, while Rakeem Dickerson chipped in 12 points before picking up his fifth personal foul. The team not only shot a solid 46.2 percent from the floor, it also connected on 20-of-25 at the free-throw line as well. Ed Townsel, who knocked down a trio of three- point shot attempts against St. Bonaventure, remains the team's top scorer overall with his 14.5 ppg, even though he has started only two games thus far. Peterson (11.9 ppg) is averaging a double-double thanks to his team-best 10.5 rpg, and yet the squad is beating opponents on the glass by just 1.2 rpg at this stage.

As long as the Govs can keep their mistakes to a minimum they should be in the hunt for that elusive road win that they've been searching for.
