Recap: Tenn-Martin vs. Austin Peay

Martin, TN (Sports Network) - Myles Taylor scored 19 points, including the game-winning free throws in overtime, as the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks survived at home, 76-74, over the Austin Peay Governors in Ohio Valley Conference action.

Taylor also finished with 13 rebounds to pace UTM (4-12, 1-3 OVC). Mike Liabo scored a team-high 21 points off the bench, while Terence Smith produced 11 points and five assists.

Travis Betran and Anthony Campbell each scored 22 points and combined to shoot 16-of-16 from the foul line in the Austin Peay (4-12, 0-2) loss. Will Triggs went for 15 points, while freshman Chris Horton brought down 10 boards.

The Skyhawks got only 12 first half points from their starters and trailed 36-31 at intermission. Betran, who was coming off a 30-point outburst against Southeast Missouri State, had 14 points in the first half to pace the Governors.

Austin Peay extended its lead to 51-41 midway through the second half, but UTM fought back to tie the game on a Dee Oldham jumper with 24 seconds left to force overtime. Betran had a chance to win it at the end of regulation for the Governors, but his three-pointer was off the mark.

With the score tied, 74-74, in the waning seconds of the extra session, Betran missed another trey. On the rebound, Taylor was fouled by Horton, and he made both free throws at the other end to win it for the Skyhawks.

UTM snapped a seven-game losing streak and registered its first overtime win of the season, while Austin Peay has now dropped eight in a row.
