Recap: Tenn-Martin vs. Eastern Ill

Martin, TN (Sports Network) - Morris Woods paced five teammates in double figures with 18 points as the Eastern Illinois Panthers demolished the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks, 93-65, in an Ohio Valley Conference tilt at the Elam Center.

For the Panthers (7-17, 4-7 OVC), Alex Austin added 16 points, Austin Akers finished with 13 points and eight assists, Malcolm Herron chipped in with 12 points, and Sherman Blanford posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Myles Taylor led all scorers with 19 points for the Skyhawks (6-17, 3-8), while Terence Smith added 11 points. Mike Liabo and Justin Childs each contributed 10 points in the setback.

EIU was red-hot to start the game, knocking down 62.5 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, including a scorching 9-of-12 from beyond the 3- point arc, as it took a 43-34 lead into the break. UTM made 44.4 percent of its shots from the field in the half.

The Panthers continued their great field goal shooting after the break (.682) as they pulled away.

The Panthers had the edge in points in the paint, 30-24, and in rebounding, 27-23.
