Recap: SE Missouri St vs. Morehead State

Cape Girardeau, MO (Sports Network) - Drew Kelly scored 15 points to lead the Morehead State Eagles to a 75-59 victory over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Show Me Center.

For the Eagles (9-10, 3-2 OVC), Angelo Warner finished with 12 points, Bakari Turner and Bruce Reed each chipped in with 10 and Chad Posthumus pulled down 13 rebounds.

The Redhawks (10-10, 2-4) were led by Nino Johnson with 13 points, while Lucas Nutt added 12 and Tyler Stone scored 11 points.

SEMO shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, though only 1-of-8 from 3-point range. Morehead State made just 39.4 percent of its field goal attempts but knocked down 4-of-11 from beyond the arc, as the teams entered halftime locked in a 34-34 tie.

The Eagles were able to take over the game by dominating at the free-throw line, outscoring the Redhawks 21-5 at the charity stripe after intermission. The Redhawks led by two, 44-42, with just over 12 minutes to play, but the Eagles responded with 9-0 run to go back ahead for good.

The Eagles dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Redhawks 45-23.
