Recap: Tenn Tech vs. Murray State

Cookeville, TN (Sports Network) - Isaiah Canaan led all scorers with 15 points as the Murray State Racers prevailed in a defensive struggle over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, 47-39, in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Eblen Center.

Ed Daniel tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Murray State (15-4, 6-1 OVC), which has won four straight contests.

For TTU (7-12, 1-6), Jud Dillard netted 12 points and Dennis Ogbe chipped in 10 points and six rebounds. The Eagles are losers of three straight and eight of their last nine.

Neither team shot greater than 35 percent from the field in the first half, but TTU took a 26-20 advantage into intermission thanks to a 7-of-10 showing from the foul line. Murray State was just 4-of-6 from the stripe and missed all seven of its 3-point attempts.

The Racers continued to struggle from the field after halftime (.333), but they held the Eagles to a lowly 4-of-25 shooting (.160) in the final 20 minutes as they took control of the low-scoring affair.

Murray State lost the turnover battle by a 23-19 margin, but it outrebounded TTU, 42-35.
