Recap: Western Ill vs. SIU Edwardsville

Macomb, IL (Sports Network) - Adam Link led all scorers with 14 points as the Western Illinois Leathernecks took down the SIU Edwardsville Cougars, 55-38, in non-conference action at Western Hall.

Terell Parks added 11 points and nine rebounds for Western Illinois (7-3), which has won four in a row. Don McAvoy also scored 11 points on 3-of-5 from three-point range.

Michael Messer was the leading scorer for SIUE (2-5) with just nine points. The Cougars shot just 14-of-43 in the game (.326).

The Leathernecks shot 5-of-10 from beyond the arc in the first half to get out to a comfortable 34-18 advantage at intermission.

SIUE never got closer than nine points of the lead after halftime.

The Cougars committed 19 turnovers, which turned into 23 points for the Leathernecks.
