Recap: Loyola Marymount vs. St Marys-CA

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Stephen Holt scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor to lead the Saint Mary's Gaels to a 61-50 decision over the Loyola Marymount Lions in a West Coast Conference showdown at Gersten Pavilion.

Jorden Page chipped in 12 points and four assists as the Gaels (22-5, 11-2 WCC) won for the 10th time in the last 11 outings.

Anthony Ireland made 13-of-14 at the free-throw line and paced Loyola Marymount (8-18, 1-12) with a game-high 19 points, while Ashley Hamilton dropped 13 points and cleared 11 rebounds before fouling out.

Saint Mary's shot just 6-of-16 at the free-throw line in the opening period but still led 33-21 at halftime after Loyola shot a mere 27.8 percent from the floor.

The free throw woes for the Gaels continued after intermission as they only made 57.9 percent at the charity stripe. LMU did not take advantage however, as it was unable to cut the deficit to single digits until it was too late.

SMC's bench outscored its counterparts, 17-6.
