Recap: Santa Clara vs. Loyola Marymount

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - Marc Trasolini had a game-high 26 points as the Santa Clara Broncos eased by the Loyola Marymount Lions, 79-56, in a West Coast Conference conflict at the Leavey Center.

Kevin Foster added 17 points and eight assists and Raymond Cowels III tacked on 12 points for Santa Clara (21-9, 9-6 WCC) which has won four of its last five games.

Anthony Ireland paced Loyola Marymount (8-21, 1-14) with 23 points. Alex Osborne had a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double and Ashley Hamilton collected 10 rebounds but had just eight points on 3-of-10 shooting. The Lions have now lost 14 straight contests.

The Broncos came out firing and led 41-24 at halftime by shooting 60.7 percent from the floor and 5-of-8 from 3-point range in the first half. The Lions had just eight field goals on 27.6 percent shooting.

Ireland scored 18 points in the final 20 minutes as the Broncos coasted to victory by shooting 44 percent from the floor and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Santa Clara outscored Loyola Marymount, 27-6, from 3-point range. The Lions had a 37-31 edge in rebounds.
