Recap: Pepperdine vs. Portland

Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Stacy Davis managed a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Pepperdine Waves defeated the Portland Pilots 54-47 in a West Coast Conference showdown at the Firestone Fieldhouse.

Davis led all scorers in the game to guide the Waves (9-6, 1-1 WCC) to their second win in three outings. Jordan Baker just missed a double-double of his own recording 10 points and nine rebounds to go along with his game-high four assists.

Oskars Reinfelds led the Pilots (7-10, 0-2) with 11 points off the bench on 4- of-6 shooting from the field. Derrick Rodgers added 10 points and five rebounds in the loss. The setback was the third in a row for Portland and fourth in five games.

Portland led 28-21 at halftime after it limited the Waves to just 32.1 percent shooting from the field in the first period.

In the second half, Pepperdine battled back and its defense held the Pilots to 28.6 percent efficiency from the field which helped the Waves outscore Portland, 33-19, to fend off the visitors. .

Portland turned the ball over 15 times compared to only six turnovers for Pepperdine.
