Recap: St Marys-CA vs. Pepperdine

Moraga, CA (Sports Network) - Beau Levesque shot 9-of-11 from the field to pace five teammates in double figures with 19 points as the Saint Mary's Gaels took down the Pepperdine Waves, 84-72, in a West Coast Conference bout at McKeon Pavilion.

Matthew Dellavedova tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists for Saint Mary's (17-4, 6-1 WCC), which has won five in a row and nine of its last 10. Stephen Holt added 17 points, Brad Waldow had 13 points and three blocks, and Mitchell Young chipped in 12 points for the Gaels.

For Pepperdine (10-10-, 2-5), shot 8-of-15 from the field en route to 20 points, while Lorne Jackson netted 16. The Waves have lost four of their last five.

Pepperdine shot a lofty 55.2 percent from the field in the first half, but Saint Mary's was even better at 64.5 percent, as the Gaels went into intermission with a 49-40 lead.

The Gaels' field goal efficiency slowed to less than 40 percent after the break, but the Waves never got within nine points of the lead.

Saint Mary's had a stellar night from the foul line (18-of-22) and won the turnover battle by a 14-9 margin.
