Recap: St Marys-CA vs. Portland

Moraga, CA (Sports Network) - Matthew Dellavedova notched 23 points to lead the Saint Mary's Gaels to a 77-42 rout of the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference tilt at McKeon Pavilion.

Jorden Page added 11 points on 5-of-7 from the field for Saint Mary's (19-4, 8-1 WCC) which improved to 14-1 at home this season. Mitchell Young contributed 10 points.

Thomas van der Mars led Portland (8-16, 1-8) with 13 points as the Pilots dropped their fifth straight game.

Saint Mary's jumped out to a 21-8 advantage after shooting 6-of-12 from long range in the first half, en route to a 41-21 advantage at the break.

The Gaels opened the second half on a 16-0 run, ending any hope of a Portland comeback. The hosts hit 50 percent of their shots while the Pilots managed just 23 percent.

Saint Mary's outrebounded Portland, 42-26, as it improved to 57-26 all-time against the Pilots.
