Recap: IUPUI vs. Oakland

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Travis Bader scored 27 points to lead the Oakland Golden Grizzlies to an 84-62 win over the IUPUI Jaguars in Summit League action at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Bader made four 3-pointers and hit 7-of-7 from the free throw line for Oakland (6-9, 1-1 Summit). Raphael Carter was perfect from the floor, making all five of his attempts for 12 points. Corey Petros added 10 points while Drew Valentine had eight points and a career-high seven steals.

Jordan Shanklin and P.J. Hubert each connected on three triples off the bench to score 17 and 14 points, respectively, to lead IUPUI (6-11, 1-3). Mitchell Patton scored 10 off the bench before fouling out. John Hart had an afternoon to forget, turning the ball over eight times in just 18 minutes.

Oakland jumped out to an 18-0 lead before the first media timeout. The Jaguars cut into the lead with a 16-7 run and managed to stay within striking distance. They trailed 42-32 at halftime.

Oakland continued its hot shooting (52.2 percent) and never led by less than nine points in the second half.

IUPUI shot 37.7 percent from the field, marking the first time this season that Oakland has held an opponent under 40.0 percent shooting.
